Month: June 2019
A wonderful evening full of awesome bird photography is behind us. We had guest speaker Simon Runting visiting us, to tell us all about the bird photography he does. If you want to get an impression of the images shown, have a look at his Facebook page for his commercial images, where he also has some of the bird images: https://www.facebook.com/pg/onsiteimagesnz/photos/
So get your bird hide, drop to worm level and fire your off-camera flash to try to get the early bird on to your memory card. Ah, and you need this: https://petapixel.com/2016/06/22/rare-nikon-1200mm-lens-setup-3-feet-long/
Well, not quite, but a long lens is needed to get close. You shouldn’t be afraid of mud and dirt, put your camera into silent shutter mode, shutter priority with 1/2000s and whatever ISO crank up you need for that speed. Good luck!
Thank you, Simon, for the evening!
